This is one of the 5 parking lots in Whistler Village, and is the one you are supposed to use for overnight trips such as up the Singing Pass trail. It is a gravel parking lot.
You can see it's location by using the GMap link. From Vancouver, drive north on highway 99 to Whistler. Turn right (east) on Village Gate Blvd and drive 3 blocks and turn left (north) onto Blackcomb way. Go a short distance and turn right onto the small road and then curve north to reach the parking lot. This is lot #5, the overnight parking lot. To get to the Singing Pass trailhead you can walk south along Blackcomb Way till you get to the bus loop.
As of 2014, you can see the parking lot on the GMap Google satellite view. Lot 4 is just across from it (to the west) and has 8 large buses or trucks, and numerous cars. Lot 5 is almost empty.
Here is a link to a Whistler map labeling the parking lots: Whistler Official Parking Lots Map When you click the link, it brings up a page "Parking in Whistler". Click "Parking Maps". This brings up a page with a Google map and a sidebar with Lot 1, Lot 2, ...Lot 5. Click on "Lot 5" in the sidebar, and you'll see red markers appear on the map.
