Fixing a sticky tent fly

Sometimes life interrupts our backcountry activities, and gear such as mountaineering tents is left unused for many years. This recently happened to me when I went to resume using my treasured Sierra Designs Super Flash 2 tent. It smelled like vomit and the flysheet coating had gone gooey and was stuck to itself.
