Written 1996-05-24: Brian Waddington, John Pearson and Janet Pearson (Noakes) were killed Friday May 17 at 12:30 in an avalanche while climbing
Cerberus Mountain, on the Monarch icefield. The other two members of the party were Betsy Waddington, Brian's wife, and Phil Hammer. The party of 5
was on a 21 day expedition.
All three of the people killed were well known and very experienced mountaineers in the British Columbia Mountaineering community and the event has
