Peter Fehr killed in Avalanche #20

On December 12, 1996 sometime between 4:00 pm and 8:00 pm, my brother Peter David Fehr (age 38) died in an avalanche while mountain climbing. He was located at Lake O'Hara and he and his partner were staying at the Elizabeth Parker hut on day 4 of an 8 day climb. The incident occurred in Yoho National Park between Lake O'Hara and the MacCarthur Pass. Peter had skiied out at 2:00 pm to scout a trail for the following day. Avalanche conditions were considerable and the amin danger existed from triggering an avalanche in shallow snow. Had he not gone alone, he would be ALIVE
