Jumbo Glacier Resort got conditional approval from the EAO recently (http://www.eao.gov.bc.ca/new-website/homepages/jumbo/jumbo-decision/news-release-2004SRM0037-000835.pdf) and the project has now been passed on to the Regional District of the East Kootenay. The proponent has duly sworn to discourage hikers anywhere outside of the one hiking trail that will be built from the resort to Glacier Dome. I personally feel great comfort knowing that the extreme environmental impacts of those heavy footed hikers will be minimized so that we can dump 10 tons of salt per day up on the Commander Glacier.
