(Wasn't sure where to post this so have inserted it into Discussion area.)
When going into the backcountry of Cypress Mountain (ie. Cypress Mountain Provincial Park) via the downhill area, you used to get a pass from the ticket office before heading out. This is no longer the case. Cypress Mountain Resorts has changed the procedure. Backcountry travellers should now proceed directly to the gate at the rear of the Snowboard/Ski rental building. There, the on-duty attendant will hand you your free backcountry pass. All backcountry travellers must enter the controlled area through this gate; you can no longer enter via the main gate near the ticket office.
