Sawtooth-Snake Ranges
Parent Area: US Rockies

Area: 85548 sq km. Location: This area comprises most of Central Idaho and lies south of the Salmon River and north and east of the Snake, with the eastern border just shy of the state boundary with Montana, which lies along the Beaverhead Mountains, which are a SSE tongue of the Bitteroot Range, which lie mostly to the north of this area. The core area is the Sawtooth Mountains although the Lost River and Lemhi Ranges - including Borah and Diamond, the highest peaks in this region - are higher.
