Okanagan Highland (Okanogan Highland)
Parent Area: Monashee Mountains

Area: 14285 sq km. Location: Between Okanagan Lake and the Monashee Mountains, south of the Shuswap River in its course through Lumby and Cherryville. The eastern boundary is the Kettle River, beyond which is the Midway River. See also Okanogan Highland, which is the US counterpart of this area, and also happens to be the source of the terminology with which Holland christened the Okanagan Highland, as well as the Shuswap Highland, Quesnel Highland, Tagish Highland, Tahltan Highland and so on. The area SW of Lumby, west of Buck Mountain, is not included in Holland's description but is included here; it otherwise could be classified as a small chunk of the Interior Plateau (albeit the only one on the east side of Lake Okanagan).
