Area: 4173 sq km.BC Place Names defines the boundaries as east to the Beaver River and Duncan River, west to the Lardeau River, Trout Lake, Beaton Creek, Beaton Arm of Upper Arrow Lake, part of Columbia River, and north to Illecillewaet River and Connaught Creek.

Includes the following officially named sub-ranges: Sir Donald Range, Dawson Range, Bishops Range, Purity Range, Battle Range, and Badshot Range.
