Spearhead Range (Spearheads)

Area: 83 sq km.   Location: The Spearhead Range is located ESE of Whistler Village, in northern Garibaldi Provincial Park. Terrain: Sharp pointed, glaciated peaks with mixed geology, including some fine granite and gneiss. The majority of the glaciers are covered with deep snowpacks from mid-winter on. Valley bottoms tend to have steep sides--the classic "U-shaped" glacial valley walls, but alpine areas may have more moderate slopes and ridge systems tend to join several peaks in a group.
