Howse Region (Howse 3)
Map Hierarchy: North America / Continental Columbia / Banff Kananaskis / Howse

Location: This long thin region is located north of Kicking Horse Pass and extends up to Saskatchewan Crossing. It is bounded by the Bow River on the east and the Blaeberry on the west. Area: 1997 sq km

Includes: Wapta Icefield, Waputik Range, Petyo Lake, Chephren Lake.

Terrain: Since this region straddles the continental divide, it is heavily glaciated. The largest icefield is the Wapta Icefield, which extends both north and south along the east sides of the mountains. This area is known for spectactular ski touring. There are not extensive meadows.
