Caption: Elaho Mtn is the high peak on the left. The mountain on the right is an unnamed 8900 foot peak

Story: From a camp a couple of kilometers below the toe of the Meager Glacier, I skied up to the base of the southwest face of Manatee Peak. It was sluffing considerably in the warm afternoon sun, so I decided to continue up to the Remora - Manatee col, where Remora Peak was climbed. After the sun had dropped lower and temperature began to plummet, I was able to climb the southwest face of Manatee Peak without any problems. This photo was taken from the summit of Manatee Peak and is looking southwest to the heavily glaciated area of Elaho Mountain. This peak is extremely remote and difficult to access and has seen relatively few ascents. It is a fine destination for ski touring. The north-northwest ridge is accessed from the glacier to the north and is rated Class 3. This has been climbed by a BCMC group.
