This peak is #40 on the Height List for British Columbia . Mount Sir John Thompson is located between the David and North Canoe glaciers. It is a heavily glaciated peak, with very steep icefalls on each of three faces, and surrounded by icefields.

Name Notes: The mountain is named after Sir John Thompson, Canada's prime minister from 1894-1894. Earlier he was the premier of Nova Scotia and a provincial supreme court judge.
