Location: A compact range located 15 km north of the Bella Coola highway in Tweedsmuir Park. Not to be confused with the other Rainbow Range in the Rockies, which is the Robson massif.
KeyPasses: Tahtesco Pass, Octopus Lakes Pass, Heckman Pass
Includes: Tsitsutl Peak and area. The boundaries as described include Tanya Mtn and its higher ground, a Tanya Lks summit, which may not be technically part of the Rainbow Range. To the south of Octopus Lakes Pass and Heckman Pass are Mount Walker and Hotnarko Mountain, respectively, and these may or may not be unofficially included (they are not here).
Terrain: RAINBOW RANGE - The Molar is a semi-popular destination. Mellow alpine. Come here for the lakes and the views S into the Coast Range which is really spectacular. Nusatsum, Waddington and Monarch are only 3 of the outstanding summits to be seen. It's a wall of wild icy peaks to the south, colourful roundy peaks to the north and the endless flatness of the Chilcotin plateau to the east.
